Cost of Living:
Shops & Banks:
Well where do I start??
Firstly the cost, accommodation is REALLY expensive, as you can see from the website, I paid £440 a month for a room, which continues to go up every year. The effectiveness of the uni accommodation management is ridiculous, if you need anything done good luck! If you live in halls wireless internet is included with your accommodation, which is great, except it does get turned off a lot without notice for repairs!
The Library is really good, during the week it is open 24 hours, and each subject has a separate librarian to help you with all your needs.
Also night life, well if your looking for a cheap student night out it does not exist. Everywhere charges you to get in, and the clubs are ridiculously small. All drinks are expensive, even on student nights. Obviously due to the fact it is 'Cambridge'.
I feel that on my course, teaching was not good. There were a few exceptions, for which the teachers were great. We were offered optional modules which got cancelled. And one lecturer which I will not mention the name of, only turned up about 4 times in a whole semester! Also the career planning is not very good, or information, which they are trying to change!
This was my experience of my first year, along with many others, hopefully it will change, so good luck!
