Bournemouth uni, the place where dreams are made reality. Need a place to study? Bournemouth's got the key, why not get yourself down to the library where questions are answered and good times are made.
Without question the nightlife is something bournemouth should be proud of. Bars such as Bliss are the centre of bustling excitement and endless extravaganzas however it comes secondary to the infamous academic adventures.
The course although mostly spent hungover, is interesting and despite our desperately dehydrated bodies which hugely lack sleep the lectures keep me from falling asleep midway. The tutorials are preferred to the lectures as it can at times be easy to lose concentration during lectures.
At uni joining a sports club is very little about the sport itself and is more to do with the social side of it, every wednesday night is spent with the team of choice and in your first year you will have to endure initiation and although it is filled with disgusting antics it's a fantastic night.
The accomodation is all situated in a perfect location, roughly 5 minutes away from the town which includes all the bars, clubs, pubs and shops. The shopping area includes every shop a student could possibly ask for, there are student discounts everywhere from Macdonalds to Topshop and most of the shops are built relatively close together. Whilst in Bournemouth it would be difficult to name a place you had to go to regularly which was more then a 20 minute walk which is fantastic for lazy students.
The cost of going to uni for anyone is going to be steep but Bournemouth is quite fairly priced considering it's based in the south. There is a huge Asda shopping centre roughly a 2 minute walk away from accomodation which means stocking up on the Asda's own food is essential. Your cupboards will be filled with countless tins of sweetcorn and 17p noodles. When your friends come to visit make sure they bring food treats as you'll start to miss the simple things like strawberries!
The cost of the accomodation itself is also very reasonably priced, the price includes internet access and an ensuite bathroom as well as desk space and a shared kitchen/living area. The ensuite bathroom is an amazing luxury as sharing a bathroom with 5/8 of students hungover every morning is beyond imagineable.
The uni as a whole is a close community and no one is left feeling alone, everyone is in the same boat with knowing very few people if not nobody and making friends is easy especially when a bit of alcohol is involved.
